Endless.com Shoe Store

Online shoe stores seem to be sprouting up right and left these days, so I decided to check them out and see what they all offered. Amazon.com did a great job with all the bells and whistles on this shoe store called www.endless.com

Endless.com Design:
I found the design very pleasing. I liked the warm earth tone colors and the images were excellent. I liked the category layouts and product layouts and found that they worked in a ton of shopping options into the design very nicely. Overall the site has a great layout and look to it.

Endless.com Ease of use:
You can shop anyway you want to on this site. By category, brand, shoe size, shoe width, heel height, price or color. I was intimitated a bit by all the options, but once I started searching around I found the tools very helpful and extremely fast. I was expecting a site with this many options to be on the slower side, but I was wrong. This site is as fast as ever, even when searching for specific sizes, colors and options.

Merchandising:
I especially liked the merchandising that the site does. When I selected a shoe to look at the details I was shown different shoes that were either a similiar brand or style. This is the first eCommerce site that I have seen that actually shows you the cross sell items above the actual product that you are looking at. I actually like the way they worked this into the design without overpowering the product detail page.

Multiple Image Views:
I could not ask for a different view of the shoes that they didn’t already have on the site. At least 7 different views for each product that I looks at.  I must have taken them hours to photograph and edit the images for each shoe! Very nice! I did not care for the image viewer that they use. It lets you slide the viewer back and forth on the shoe and it zooms in. I would prefer to just see the entire photo larger. Overall it was not too bad to get used too.

Descriptions:
You cannot touch and feel the products when you shop online, so you rely on the descriptions and images to guide you through your shopping experience. www.endless.com has great descriptions and images. I would be very comfortable selecting an purchasing shoes from this site.

Product Reviews:
I looked at about 12 products on the site and I could not find any products that had reviews. I also could not find a place to search by top rated shoes. Maybe that will come after they get some reviews on the site. I like to browse the top rated products to see what other people like and dislike.

Other Stuff I Noticed:
One thing I noticed that was a bit strange was from the homepage I clicked a link called “Best Bets Under $75″ and could only find women’s shoes. I could not find the link on the men’s shoes page. It would have been nice for a homepage link to cater to a wider range of customers.

I didn’t buy any shoes yet. I want to review the other sites first to see which site I liked best. The checkout appears to be a standard Amazon.com checkout process, which can be bit long but very nicely done.
